GOblend Pro
Electronic Wine Sample Blender & Blending Management System
Wine Blending and Management System
Blending wines to achieve subtlety and balance is an age-old expression of the winemaker's art. All wines are to some degree blended. Classic French wines were always the product of blending various wines to achieve the desired flavor profile.
GOblend is a laboratory instrument that automatically creates blend samples from up to 4 different wines in seconds. Replace tedious manual pipetting and graduate measurements with push-button precision — make 50 blends in the time it takes to make 10 by hand.
The Art and Science of Wine Blending
Blending allows winemakers to create a recognizable house-style, minimize undesirable components, enhance desirable components, improve vintage consistency, and "up-blend" to enhance wine uniqueness and overall quality. A winemaker may use blending to enhance aroma, improve color, balance acidity, tannins or alcohol levels, and add complexity to flavors and textures.
Successful blending requires evaluating the wines available, then testing various mixtures to produce the desired result. It is not uncommon for even very small changes to make a large difference in the final blend. However, the practical methods of making blend samples are archaic and tedious — samples measured out using graduates, mixed together and tasted. This method is slow, and only a few blends can be evaluated per hour. The labor-intensive process often results in the winemaker accepting a blend that could be vastly improved by just a few more adjustments.
Bordeaux Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. On the left bank, higher Cabernet Sauvignon makes the wine more structured with higher tannins. On the right bank, more Merlot and Cabernet Franc for a softer, more supple wine.
Meritage Blend
A Bordeaux-style blend from New World wine regions. Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot with hints of Carménère and Petit Verdot. Known for versatility — enjoyable young but also stand up to aging.
Rhône Blend
Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre blended to make a complex red wine. Each varietal contributes complexity, aromas, and flavors to the finished wine — a tradition from France's Rhône River Valley.

Wine Blender's Notebook
A complete digital notebook — store and recall recipes, record blend characteristics (color, body, aroma, acidity, tannic structure), share by email, or export to Excel.
More Than a Blending Machine
In addition to making physical blend samples, GOblend provides a complete system for storing and editing blends and the wines used for blending. These recipes can be stored and recalled later so the winemaker can remake an older blend to evaluate in minutes.
Blend characteristics such as color, body, and tasting notes can be recorded. Blend recipes can be sent by email to the winery, shared with others, or exported to Excel. In essence, GOblend provides a complete Wine Blender's Notebook.
Save & Recall
Store blend recipes and recall them later to remake and re-evaluate any blend in minutes.
Export & Share
Send recipes by email, share with your team, or export to Excel for production planning.
Record Characteristics
Log aroma, color, body, acidity, and tannic structure for each blend. Build a comprehensive tasting library.
