About GoFermentor
Rethinking winemaking from the ground up
Born from Frustration, Built for Winemakers
GOfermentor was established by Meera and Vijay Singh. When they began making wine, they discovered that traditional winemaking is more janitorial work than actual winemaking. Cleaning and sanitizing tanks, equipment, and floors before starting — then washing everything again when finished. Wineries typically use six times the volume of wash water compared to the wine produced, creating a massive environmental burden.
Red wine production brought additional challenges. Pushing down the grape cap every few hours is physically demanding and dangerous work. The pressing operation at fermentation's end involves multiple hours of labor, CO2 inhalation hazards during tank entry, frequent press malfunctions, and significant wine spillage and waste.
Barrel aging required constant maintenance — topping off every other month, multiple kegs and carboys crowding floor space, increasing spoilage and breakage risks. These inefficiencies motivated the Singhs to completely rethink the winemaking process, resulting in the GOfermentor and SmartBarrel systems.

A Complete Rethink of Winemaking
Instead of incremental improvements, we started from scratch to build equipment that eliminates the biggest pain points in winemaking.
No More Cleaning
Single-use food-grade liners eliminate the need to clean and sanitize fermentation vessels. Zero cross-contamination risk, zero wash water waste.
Automated Cap Management
Gas-injection punchdown replaces hours of dangerous manual labor. Programmable, consistent, and thorough — just turn it on and let it work.
Built-In Press & Monitoring
Integrated pressing eliminates the messy transfer to external presses. Real-time WiFi monitoring and data logging keep you in control from anywhere.
Patented Technology
Our technology is protected by multiple patents across three countries, ensuring winemakers always have access to the most advanced fermentation and storage systems available.
